ATA’s Support for Startups Earns Praise from IT Leaders

▪️ ‘ATA Startup Pitch Day’ Held as an International Platform at IIT Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The American Telugu Association (ATA) has been widely appreciated by leading IT professionals for its strong commitment to encouraging startups and fostering innovation in the technology sector. As part of “ATA Vedukalu–2025,” being conducted across the two Telugu states, ATA organized the ATA Startup Pitch Day in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (Ministry of Education) and IIT Hyderabad on Saturday at the IIT Hyderabad Convention Centre Auditorium.

The event brought together startup founders, investors, academic institutions, and industry experts on a single platform with the objective of promoting innovation, providing funding opportunities, offering mentorship, and building a strong global startup network.

India’s Startup Ecosystem Expanding Rapidly

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Panneer Selvam (PS) Madanagopal, CEO of MeitY Startup Hub (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology), said India’s startup ecosystem is expanding at an unprecedented pace. He noted that supportive policies of the Central Government and the initiatives of MeitY Startup Hub are creating vast opportunities for young engineers and entrepreneurs. Dr. Madanagopal emphasized that technology-driven innovation is the backbone of future economic growth and stated that Artificial Intelligence will play a transformative role in shaping the future.

Panel Discussion on Scaling Startups

A panel discussion titled “Scaling Startups: Challenges and Opportunities” was a key highlight of the event. The session featured Dr. Panneer Selvam Madanagopal, Ramesh Loganathan, Professor and Co-Innovation & Head of Research/Innovation Outreach at IIT Hyderabad, Ravi Reddy, Founder of Sunera Group, Kiran Chandra Kalluri, Partner at Dallas Venture Capital, and Mudrika Khandelwal, Professor of Materials Science at IIT Hyderabad.

The panelists shared valuable insights on challenges faced by startups, fundraising strategies, market expansion, technology commercialization, and global partnerships.

Startup Pitches and Selection

Several startups presented their business ideas, products, and services during the Pitch Day. The presentations were evaluated by an expert jury comprising Ravi Reddy, Kiran Tanikella, Kiran Chandra Kalluri, Sridhar Rampalli, Rajesh Kosuri, Raghuraman Ramamurthy, Partha Saradhi Karamshetti, Jeevan Karamshetti, Prasad Vaddadi, Venkatesham B, Bharavi Kodavanti, and Venu Madhav Vodnala. Outstanding startups were shortlisted for further opportunities.

ATA Leadership Speaks

Addressing the gathering, ATA President Jayanth Challa and President-Elect Satish Ramasahayam Reddy thanked Powerhouse, Pavestone, Succeed Innovation, and Dallas Venture Capital for their support. They stated that the primary goal of the Pitch Day was to provide promising startups with access to funding, mentorship, and industry connections. They expressed confidence that the ATA Startup Pitch Day would serve as a significant milestone in strengthening India–US startup collaboration.
